Nutbrook was engaged to review the existing backup generator on site with a view to ensuring the building meets Property Council of Australia Grade A compliance (with respect to generator backup provisions).
Project challenges included ensuring that the existing generator capacity was capable of handling the revised load connections through strategic load shedding of non-critical equipment and juggling the needs of certain tenants requiring generator backup.
Nutbrook developed the design scope and project managed the entire project with the detailed design and electrical works carried out by DESA/Engie.
The project was successfully commissioned over a number of nights to minimise disruption to tenants and is now in the final phase of handover.
The building can now claim a Grade A classification with respect to generator backup and tenants benefit from one lift, house power, and safety services continuing to operate during electricity network outages.
